Is this game a remake or a remaster?

I'm arguing with my cousin who says it's a remaster but I'm saying it's a remake because they started from scratch. What you thenk

Honestly, the terms have become so broad as of lately they may as well mean the exact same thing. But I'm willing to lean more towards the remake side of things since it did more than just a HD makeover, but also adding skill points to Spyro 1, full analog camera control, redone cutscenes and animations, etc.

A better example of what I'd consider a remaster is something like Final Fantasy X/X2 HD where it's the same game as it was on PS2 with a HD makeover, minor visual changes and other non-substantial additions.

I would say remaster as the gameplay and story stay the same.

FFVII has a remake because the gameplay and story are modified.

Remake for sure. They made it the same but with modern graphics and art style. The game is well remade at that.

Remake, built from the ground up from the very beginning been following the series and game for 15+ years since I was 5 following the production of Reignited. It may look the same in terms of where everything is but the entire game was built from the ground up starting in like 2017 if I remember correctly. Especially take a look at Crash Bandicoot the game was also redone from the ground up as a remake.

I don't know what it is but it really feels good playing this as Spyro was a huge part of my introduction to video games. And they did a really good job overall imo. aside from the FPS uncapped thing
