whats up with those lame cheat codes?

only 2 actually do anything for you (one is locked till you beat the game) and the rest is cosmetic.

yah but this is a remake not just a graphics update so they could have added something like infinite gems, flight, or other things. and i think they made it so you can't use the second one till you complete the game 100% (or was it like that in the old version too?)

well i looked on some cheat sites for the original game and i didnt see anything about it needing 100% complete on the site so i wasnt sure

Bare in mind this was back in the day when people didn't need to rely on cheats such as infinite flight or infinite gems. I daresay theres a script out there for those.

Oh now I see it's there in the cheat sheet page in the Guides section. My level of observation is absolutely subpar lately

what where they thinking tho (the original makers of the game)? A Locked cheat code? Isn't that just a unlockable reward you have to look up?

Cheats being unlocked after a game being completed isnt anything new
Its so the game isnt initially ruined by using cheats, so after you've done everything you can cheat as much as you want because it doesnt ruin the game play

the point of cheat codes it to let you cheat whenever you want to if you can only use it after a game its not a cheat code and a unlockable feature

The point of cheat codes is to give you freedom in one way or another and to mess around with different aspects of the game. Some cheats CAN Ruin the experience of the game depending on the cheat so its logical for certain cheats to only become available after a game has already been completed.

As i previously stated
Cheats being unlocked after completion is NOT a new thing, Lots of games have done it in the past

Think of it as a New Game+ mode but with Cheats being enabled instead of having whatever from the First play through.

Thats all it is, and its not really something worth complaining about.

If you want to cheat in this game then learn how to use CE instead of relying on in game cheats.

if you didn't want to ruin the "experience" of the game you wouldn't use cheat codes in the first place

On the console version, you can get permanent flight if you do a weird set of steps involving the entrance to Ripto's lair.

Uhhh, it's an extra feature.... Why are you expecting anything out of something that doesn't even have to be there? (also they just mimic what the original game did with a few more cosmetic ones.) But sorry if this extra thing not meant to be significant to the game's experience disappointed you.
