About the Unreal Engine and the VR launches on startup
A little tip for developers, when you make a Unreal project, remember to disable the VR in the "Project Settings" but also to disable the VR Plugins. Steam VR and Oculus have plugins enabled by default. That's why many non-VR Unreal Engine games tend to launch SteamVR/Oculus at launch time (and thus transfer the game audio to headphones/HMD and other minor issues), even if "launch in VR" is disabled.

Just disable the plugins and rebuild the game and problem solved.

P.S. Now please, make an update xD

so thats why the game is so dead set on wanting to play audio on my oculus? i even tried to force -nohmd and even that doesnt work... I have to forcefully disable my rifts audio just to play the game.

I've just had my refund due to this.. It's a shame. I've been looking forward to this but I'm not reconfiguring my system every time I want to play one game.

I tried all the fixes I found including starting the game with -nohmd but that resulted in it failing to start altogether.

Disconnecting my Oculus restored the sound but SteamVR then errored because it couldn't find the headset and when I closed that down my controller wouldn't work in the game.

At that point I gave up and decided that no game was worth that much hassle.

Ah, ok this makes sense. I was wondering why the game sound was coming from my Rift. I figured it was something like this. Odd part is that this wasn't happening before, so it must had been some update that released that caused this.

Strange that they'd completely forget to disable the VR settings for a non-VR game. Makes me wonder if they were playing around with some kind of potential VR mode for the game.

Either way, they need to fix this. Its really inconvenient to have to disable Rift audio everytime I want to play this game.
