Extra Life Question

Do extra lives respawn and if they don't, are any of them in out of the way locations (away from gems, Dragons, or any collectible)?

Extra lives don't respawn, and some of them are in out of the way locations that require a bit of thinking or discovery to reach or are on hard to reach platforms.

You have infinite continues in case you are wondering.
If you lose all your lives you just have to restart the level.

Only one - an extra life in Year of the Dragon that's found in a normally inaccessible (without glitches) cave was moved to behind the building in Midnight Mountain. Otherwise, if you've played the originals, you know exactly where to look.

Thanks again! Do they contribute towards the final perentage? I ask because I'd eventually like to find all of them, and if the game keeps track of them it makes things easier for me.

How many extra lives are in each Spyro game? (outside of three youtube videos, looking online has lead me nowhere)

Technically, extra lives are an infinite resource as every ten butterflies you feed Sparx also grants you an extra life, though you can only have up to 99 at a time.

Also, at least in the first game (I'm replaying that one now, never had the 2nd, and it's been a loooong time since I played the third) every time you either replay a level or return to a hub world and then re-kill enemies there, you collect orbs--these collect into a circle around your lives counter. Each time you complete the circle, you get an extra life. I forget how many it takes for each one. 10 or 12?
Edit: Just looked. Looks like 20. Not that hard to re-get, really.
