Game is so dark?
Shadows are so overdone or is there a setting i need to change?

Bad idea in a 3d platformer. Having shadows is a frame of reference for how high up in the air your character currently is.

Since you don't have depth perception while playing a 3d game, little cues like that can help you not fall off every single ledge.
