Game not saving while playing offline?
I had some internet issues yesterday so I played this game for like an hour and half offline. When going back online, the game for some reason ignored all the progress I've made during that time, so I had to redo over an hour of progress because of this.

Is there something I'm missing? I don't even have Steam Cloud sync enabled so all my save data should be stored locally. Any way to make sure this won't happen again in case I have to play offline?

I have the opposite problem ... if I play online my saved data is reset and the game crash after a minute... if i play offline the game does not crash and my saved data remains intact

ps: I don't have Steam Cloud sync enabled

Copy paste your save file before exiting the game using alt tab to go back to desktop without exiting.
Save file location is mentionned on other posts.

I'm doing this next time. I just got off of a 24 duty at my job this morning and completed Ripto's Rage and got like 2% (not much but still upsetting) on YotD and my game rolled back once I was online. The achievements I got offline remained, but the game progress ate ♥♥♥♥.

Thank you for the suggestion!

Tested this but it didn't work, thanks anyway.

I was curious so I researched some more. It looks like the game saves in two different folders:

-Here when playing online:
Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\---------\996580\remote\Falcon\Saved\SaveGames

-Here when offline:
Users\-------------\AppData\Local\Falcon\Saved\SaveGames

So when you launch the game online, it compares both files and allways picks the online one even if it's older (and even if Steam Cloud is turned off), and apparently also overwrites the offline save in the process. So the solution would be copy-pasting the offline (more updated) save to the online folder before launching the game the next time.

Also just lost 30% of offline progress. How can they overwrite your local saves? That's outrageous. It's totally ruined the game for me, I can't be bothered to put that time back in. Think I'll be requesting a refund.

I was affected as well, because I played the game offline once when the Steam client had issues connecting. I lost something like 4 hours. I mentioned it as a negative issue in my review to warn others.
Thanks for the solution with saving the game files, but you only look for a thread like this if the damage has been done already ... so this should get fixed, imo.

Just happened to me as well, I think I've lost 2-3 hours of gameplay. That sucks. Also that saving system is bonkers.

You re not the ony one. If you think it may happen again.
Alt tab the game before exiting and copy paste the save file somewhere else.

Copying the local save works for me! I would have lost another hour of progress if I hadn't.

That explained why i lost some progress on spyro 3. When i was playing i lost my connection and now the internet was back the game put me 2 levels before that i was playing. They need to update the game to always use the more recent save file.
