Bug Reporting Megathread. Please post issues here for devs' attention!
Since there's a lot of threads being opened by different people citing mostly the same issues (most notably the issues with the alpine ridge gate and broken animations at high framerates) I thought it would be best to concentrate them into one thread until the devs (assuming they ever take notice) create one themselves

1) Running animations on the 1st treasure thief in the artisan home world (spyro 1) is broken and his legs don't work when he runs

2) Spyro will slide around erratically above 120fps

3) Some users have reported that the game becomes very dark if initial cutscenes are skipped (may happen regardless)

4) Alpine Ridge in spyro 1 world 3 has a gate that a druid manipulates that will not work above 30fps (despite high framerate support being touted in the trailers for the pc version and being the main reason most of us will be playing it on pc)

Please add your issues below and state your hardware incase if helps the devs. For reference I'm using a i7 7700k @4.2 ghz, 16gb ddr4 ram @2400mhz, nvidia gtx 1080 8gb vram, windows 10 pro x64 and a 60hz monitor

update (3-9-19):

alpine ridge can be fixed either by setting in-game fps to unlimited and using vsync (60hz monitr users only) or setting it to unlimited and enabling a framerate cap via nvidia inspector. do not use the in-game fps cap of 60 or the gate breaks.

update 2 (4-9-19):

users having an annoying issue where steamvr is launched alongside the game, can stop it by right clicking on game in library, click properties, then launch options and type this into the box without quotes: "-nohmd"

update 3 (5-9-19)

a workaround for the steam vr issue with rift headphones that the above fix doesn't resolve had been found:

Editing the Engine.ini file found in C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Local\Falcon\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\ and changing

[Oculus.Settings]
AudioOutputDevice="{0.0.0.00000000}.{fc778473-acdc-4197-bb4c-78580a230583}"

to your PC Speakers ID

AudioOutputDevice="{0.0.0.00000000}.{1005ec1a-01d9-4154-a792-fcbe51ac0ec8}"

(IDs can be found in registries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\SWD\MMDEVAPI)

engine.ini must then be saved and set to "read only" or else the game will revert it on next launch. it should then persist.

Seems that ultrawide support was intended as the game supports the resolutions in the settings, and the HUD elements are off-screen, but the rendered view is pillarboxed.

Frankly I don't think the devs are reading this forum, I would advise everyone to reach out to Activision Chat support here: https://support.activision.com/Contact_Us?p=1

I chatted with them earlier and they forwarded my issues to the dev team that ported the game after getting my msinfo32 and DxDiag files. If we get enough people to chat with them about these issues, I feel we'll have better luck.

spyro isn't listed under windows yet.

I just selected the PS4 edition then told the support rep that I was reporting an issue with the PC version.

I see.

The game freezes at entering nearly every level in Ripto's Rage*. Upon entering a gate, it transitions to Spyro's flying loading screen, his movement stops, sometimes with the background wind still playing, and it gets stuck there. I've had to alt+tab to my task manager, end task, and reopen the game multiple times. Fortunately the save registers I'm in the new level and loads properly, opening cutscene and all. The same doesn't happen when traversing back to the hub world.

*Not sure if this is exclusively happens in RR, I haven't started the other two games yet. I don't plan on continuing until a patch fixes this.

Edit to add the fact Task Manager labels Spyro as Not Responding every time this happens.

I have noticed in the 1st game that some loading transitions are pretty lengthy. Have you tried waiting it out?

The game crashed on me after a 2 hour session or so.
The game just froze, then played the music from the stage for a bit, and then crashed and shut down.
No Errors to show after the crash, it was like the game ALT+F4 by itself.
I've run into #1, #2 and #4. It's annoying as heck, but you can kind of work around it.

However I'm not going to hold my breath for a patch knowing that Activision is the publisher.

2019 and game companies are still catering towards 720p and 30 fps...

Also whoever playtested Alpine Ridge needs to be fired; can't progress unless locked at 30 fps!

No overclocking and eveything running at default.

Alright, tried to wait it out, started a stopwatch on my phone and am up to 8 minutes with no effect or change. I'm not sure how long the load times are, but I imagine those loads still have Spyro flying through the air normally and such. As I said before however, the screen is completely frozen on mine. I will start up Spyro 1 in a moment, and add any differences seen on that.
Edit 1: Started Spyro 1, ran straight to the level at the right of the start, and frozen again. Gonna try lowering the graphics (currently at medium) and try again with Spyro 3.
Edit 2: Tried the above changes, same thing happened. Something I probably should have mentioned in my original post, Task Manager labeled Spyro as Not Responding each time I had to do this.

In the Sunny Flight level (Spyro 1) if you set 120 fps cap and you burn up the enemies on the airplanes you can clearly see they're being launched out of their vehicles too far away and their animations are glitchy.

Ran into #4, was able to workaround it by alt-tabbing, which let the gate open in the background. But yeah, I *really* expected they would have at least playtested it to the point where that wouldn't happen.

found a partial workaround for the gate. set fps to unlimited, but enable vsync. it seems that any cap other than 60 fixes the gate. however, with unlimited fps, you get other glitches like spyro flying too high when entering levels.

Only problem I've had for now is transitioning to some worlds has A LOT of stuttering. ALso encountered the Druid door bug in Alpine Ridge, HOLY SH*T does the gameplay look terrible when you have to drop to 30FPS.

I highly doubt they could fully fix the game sadly. for some assinine reason, toys for bob tied physics to framerate because the piss-poor toasters can't run a platformer above 30fps.

they would have to re-test everything at every different fps preset and on even higher fps monitors. Can't see activision stumping up the pay to be honest.

The game freezes just by entering any portal in Spyro 3. It doesn't even save the level I am about to enter, so I am stuck on the first "lobby" forever it seems.
I have to run the task manager and close the game from there.
EDIT: It seems this bug is trigger-able anywhere, I had it occurring also on Spyro 1 and 2.

As a bonus, audio/video in cutscenes is out of sync, with the audio having serious latency issues and stuttering.

I should mention that I am playing the game within the minimum required specifications (except for the GPU which is recommended and the CPU which is a little below the minimum)
