Frankly I don't think the devs are reading this forum, I would advise everyone to reach out to Activision Chat support here: https://support.activision.com/Contact_Us?p=1
I chatted with them earlier and they forwarded my issues to the dev team that ported the game after getting my msinfo32 and DxDiag files. If we get enough people to chat with them about these issues, I feel we'll have better luck.
spyro isn't listed under windows yet.
I just selected the PS4 edition then told the support rep that I was reporting an issue with the PC version.
I see.
*Not sure if this is exclusively happens in RR, I haven't started the other two games yet. I don't plan on continuing until a patch fixes this.
Edit to add the fact Task Manager labels Spyro as Not Responding every time this happens.
I have noticed in the 1st game that some loading transitions are pretty lengthy. Have you tried waiting it out?
The game just froze, then played the music from the stage for a bit, and then crashed and shut down.
No Errors to show after the crash, it was like the game ALT+F4 by itself.
However I'm not going to hold my breath for a patch knowing that Activision is the publisher.
2019 and game companies are still catering towards 720p and 30 fps...
Also whoever playtested Alpine Ridge needs to be fired; can't progress unless locked at 30 fps!
No overclocking and eveything running at default.
Alright, tried to wait it out, started a stopwatch on my phone and am up to 8 minutes with no effect or change. I'm not sure how long the load times are, but I imagine those loads still have Spyro flying through the air normally and such. As I said before however, the screen is completely frozen on mine. I will start up Spyro 1 in a moment, and add any differences seen on that.
Edit 1: Started Spyro 1, ran straight to the level at the right of the start, and frozen again. Gonna try lowering the graphics (currently at medium) and try again with Spyro 3.
Edit 2: Tried the above changes, same thing happened. Something I probably should have mentioned in my original post, Task Manager labeled Spyro as Not Responding each time I had to do this.
R5 1600@3.7 | 16GB DDR4 | RX 580 4GB
i7-4820K 3.7Ghz
8GB DDR3 RAM
GTX 1060 3GB
they would have to re-test everything at every different fps preset and on even higher fps monitors. Can't see activision stumping up the pay to be honest.
I have to run the task manager and close the game from there.
EDIT: It seems this bug is trigger-able anywhere, I had it occurring also on Spyro 1 and 2.
As a bonus, audio/video in cutscenes is out of sync, with the audio having serious latency issues and stuttering.
I should mention that I am playing the game within the minimum required specifications (except for the GPU which is recommended and the CPU which is a little below the minimum)
