Alpine Ridge Bug?
In the level "Alpine Ridge" in the first game, there's a gate that a druid behind it intermittently lifts and lowers that you must fly through while it is lowered. The druid is lifting it, but isn't lowering it, even though I can hear him doing the lift/lower sound, so the gate is remaining in the up position, preventing my progress through the level. I've tried maybe resetting it through dying, backing up, even restarting the level, but I'm still having this issue? Has anyone else run into this? Does anyone have a fix for this?

Change your framerate limit to 30.

Wow this worked. Thank you.

That's weird though, I hope that's something they can fix.

This bug makes it obvious they didn't fully playtest the game at higher FPS.

Not to be that guy but probably going to refund. The main reason to get the PC version is to not be locked at 30. Even if it doesn't break everything outright, having to go into the options and change the framerate limit because a section of the game has been reduced to impossible is unacceptable.

Yes, I encountered this too. I'm happy that there exists a ridiculous solution that works too.

Yeah but this can easily be patched. Wait a few days, I believe there will be a patch for things like this. They got everything else working and little things like this slipped under the radar.

This is an issue that is completely reproducable by anyone who is able to run the game higher than 30 fps. They've had between the console release in 2018 and now to work on the PC port. This is an issue that can be discovered within the first hour of playing and can completely stop progress if the player does not know they need to change their graphics settings to progress.

the ue4 engine is not tied to framerate with physics. the timing of the gate likely was tied to framerate by the devs thanks to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ toasters.

My wife just ran into this issue and you helped fix it, fine people of Steam.

Other than Alpine Ridge, are there any other currently known places that have this issue?
