Quick question about loading stages and lag
Is this common for anyone else?

Hardware is up to par, running the game at ultra at over 100 fps and also have an SSD.

Been seeing quite a bit of lag especially while counting gems between levels. Once even loading back in to the main hub world, Spyro looked like a slide show for about 2-3 seconds then back to full speed.

Any way to mitigate this? Would turning down settings do it? Is ue4 just laggy when loading?

I'm open to any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

for me it runs better from my hdd than from my ssd. loading times are much longer on my ssd than on my hdd (my ssd is a samsung 960 evo and its not broken and it doesn'T have any problem. other games like world of warcraft run perfect on it and lightning fast with nearly zero loading times whilst loading times on my nas hdd are horribly long in wow).

also seen a bit more lag as in fps drops in loading screens when installed on my ssd. i've noticed that behavior already a few times in other games that were released on console first and then ported to the pc.. i would say by now its normal. pc exclusive games like civ6 and wow run fantastic and a million times faster from my ssd but konsole ports often run worse..

maybe put the game to your hdd and it should run better and loading times will most likely be a bit faster too. the game is very light in terms of loading and streaming

I'm running on hdd and the loading times between levels still seems iffy. No other issues though so I'm not too worried about it.

I mean, it's not super terrible but dropping from 140+ fps to 40ish is hella noticeable and off-putting.

I've seen the same thing in every play through I've come across. So just wanted to know if it's a common thing.

Guess I'll not worry about it since gameplay itself is butter.

Definitely would be awesome if the loading times between levels got tweaked.

If anything, turning down the settings made it worse.

I capped it to 30 and set everything to low and it lagged all over the place
What are your v-sync settings? If you have double buffer v-sync (standard) then any drop below 60fps will lock to 30fps before shooting back up. Turning on triple buffer v-sync helps this, but introduces minor lag i personally don't notice. Also turning off v-sync but then you get tearing.
This thread is 5,5 years old. I'm pretty sure they've already either given up, solved their problem or just accepted it while playing through it.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
