Game occasionally drops down to 3-4 FPS when controller is connected via Bluetooth
Anybody else having this issue? Sometimes it will dip to 3-4 FPS for several seconds then back up to 40 FPS on default settings @ 1440p. My controller also disconnects when it happens.

Using a GTX 960 4GB w/ i7-8700k @ 4.8GHz

EDIT: I tried playing the game without the controller connected and the issue is gone. I guess it's related to either bluetooth or my (XB1) controller.

EDIT #2: Problem solved, thanks to SenMithrarin85. Solution is to enable Steam's Xbox Configuration Support, which can be found in General Controller Settings in the Controller tab for Steam Settings.

I tried the pad wired on usb, drops stopped.

I tried another controller (360) drops stopped.

I replaced the bluetooth adpator I was using with a different one and drops stopped.

So that might be the reason. another workaround is to use steam's xbox controller support which also bypasses the problem.

How are you only getting 40 FPS with a 960?

Sorry, should have mentioned I'm running the game at 1440p. Edited my post.

I had the same issue playing Crash Bandicoot trilogy. :( Haven't tried Spyro trilogy yet, but hopefully it works better.

Ah ok fair enough

Do you have V-Sync on, try turning it off?

Tried with V-Sync on and off, changed resolution and display mode, but no fix. The game also keeps starting up at 3-4 FPS now.

I decided to see what happens when the controller isn't connected (xb1 controller via bluetooth), and the problem is gone. So it seems to be related to bluetooth/the controller.

As mentioned, I tried the different display modes. Issue appears to be related to Bluetooth.

nvidia's drivers are not optimised for anything. their latest ones are buggy as all hell.

Thanks to you, I can finally enjoy this game. That completely got rid of the problem.

The GPU listed under the minimum requirements is from 2012, and I have the 2015 GPU listed under the recommended requirements (except with higher vram). The card gets above 60 fps on 1080p too, it isn't the problem.

I got my 8700k with plans to eventually upgrade the GPU.
