I was able to fix the issue with Spyro sliding/slipping across the terrain when not touching the controls.
First, you need to take the Framerate OFF UNLIMITED.
Second, you need to set a framerate cap. A cap at 144 Hz wasn't working as Spyro was still sliding/slipping. I found that a 120 Hz cap worked best and as such, Spyro wouldn't slide/slip across the terrain.
Here are my specs in case you're curious:
i7 9700k
2080 Ti on an ASUS 2k 144 Hz monitor
32gb DDR 4
Dark shadows / lighting is bug. Somebody already posted that it happens when you start new game with uncap fps and skipping first cutscenes
This should be pinned, seriously. The sliding at 144hz manipulates your movement and makes the Tree Tops boosting impossible.
I don't see the issue(s) with the lighting as seen in the video you linked. The video makes it look very contrasty (shadows/lighting). The comments in the video mention that the lighting has been fixed in the final release.
Also, one commenter mentioned there are hidden graphics settings:
"One more neat thing: there seems to be a couple of hidden graphics that can be enabled in the config files; user/(username)/appdata/local/Falcon/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor/GameUserSettings
Particularly, under the "ScalabilityGroups".
I found that upping the ViewDistance and FoilageQuality to "4" increased the LOD distance of most foliage. Increasing the ShadowQuality to "4" increases shadow resolution, but if you flame near a wall (facing it or away from it), some shadowing artifacts may show up."
The same commenter mentions:
"When I keep my game capped at constant 120FPS (2080 Ti @ 1440P), I have issues with Alpine level, and the wizards lifting some platforms; unless I cap the FPS to 30).
Also, if using a controller (Xbox One for me), the left and right directions on the stick that control the camera is quite laggy (yet oddly enough, much more responsive when moving camera up and down). This is with me having a constant 120FPS @ 1440P."
Hopefully the developer addresses these outstanding issues in a timely manner. Otherwise, this is a beautiful game that brings back the welcome nostalgia of the one thought forgotten Spyro series. :)
I dont think u can even run this game with this setup it must b way 2 powerful
Glad to help! Enjoy the game!!! 😊
