This or Crash?
I haven't played Spyro or Crash Bandicoot at all. Which should I pick up?

Why not both? They're both classics and really well made. You'd be fine with either one.

If you've never played Crash you might find it incredibly difficult in some levels just because of the platforming in areas... It can be a little odd. I'd go with Spyro.

rope bridge level on crash.

The advantage of Spyro is that as compared to Crash it has full 3D-worlds which you can explore, while Crash is actually linear 2D-game in 3D (pseudo-3D).
Also Crash games are rather hard, this game is much more nice and chill, and Spyro is A LOT cuter, Crash looks ugly and silly, I never liked his looks as character.

I haven't played Crash but to my understanding is if you want a challenging platformer go with Crash, if you want a more open-exploration-collectable game with some platforming and combat then go with Spyro.

Crash (especially in NST remake) is easy too. Spyro more easy.
You can buy Spyro and wait for - possible - Crash bundle with NST+NF(+Spyro) remakes. And you can play old PS1\PS2 platformers on PC (emulators).

Crash is 5 out 5 stars when spyro is 3.5. You should get crash better game.

Crash is 76-80 out of 100 on metacritic
Spyro 82-83 out of 100 on metacritic
Crash on gamerankings 81.28%
Spyro on gamerankings 83.22%

Spyro is even slightly better in terms of game critic aggregated reviews.

That summarizes things pretty damn well. Does OP want a game where you can only move like Mario or Little Big Planet or would you prefer a game environment that you can explore in 3 dimensions and is brightly colored like, well, kids games and kids movies? Both games are really fun if you enjoy each type of gameplay. I like Fallout 2 the most out of all Fallout games and yet it is a turn-based game. Which type of game do you think you would enjoy most? Buy it.
crash is more for hardcore platformer but both are good, however haven't played spyro nor crash since the ps2 era but i still have good memories of them. they are on my list to pick next sale :p

i like spyro graphics better.
spyro = mario
crash = donkey kong

<spyro = mario>

Fuuu, almost all mario games are trash for nintendo-boys.
Totally unbiased opinion: Crash sucks, Spyro is the best.

Both. They’re great platformers and you should play both of them.
Don’t rely on some critics’ score, overall user ratings or silly biased opinions here to determine which game you should get, it doesn’t have to be either black or white.
