Slow Egg Thieves
The Egg Thieves I have caught so far (all from Artisans and Peace Keepers) were incredibly slow, so that I could almost walk up to them and flame them. - Don't get me wrong, I'd still rather have that problem than if they were impossible to catch. But it does take away some of the challenge...
I've seen that some people have reported an animation mistake with "the first thief in Artisans" (Stone Hill or Town Square?), but I didn't find anything about my problem. Did anyone else experiece this?

My thieves ran full speed. Actually had trouble catching the one in cliff town.

I did have the Stone Hill thief seem to get caught on some rock textures while trying to run away, making him real easy to get.
One thief decided to laugh at me instead of run away, so I blasted him in the face before his animation could finish.

Not sure if that counts.

I didn't have that problem. In fact they were really fast and it took a long time to catch most of them. =P

Mine are so fast that I don´t know how to catch some of them.
Seems like some of them can only be caught when they go back to their starting point, there is a moment where they stop moving, or their intended path leads right through Spyro's "Flame Zone"

Also, when they do that laughing animation, they won't start running until they finish the animation, allowing you to rush in and kill them before they have a chance to run away.

Anyway, think of chasing the egg-guys like game-development. As a general rule, you want to cut as many corners as possible, and get to the end goal by following the shortest and fastest path. (You might even want one finder on the charge button and the other on the flame button, so that you can blast him the moment he gets into range)
It's clear that fps plays a big part of the game's functionality.

I tried reducing FPS to 30, but I still caught the one at the beginning of Magic Crafters easily. Come to think of it, not only was he slow, he also started running quite late.

Now you're just making ♥♥♥♥ up.

OP said nothing about frame-rate.

The only known problems that have anything to do with frame-rate are the Druid Door in Alpine Ridge, and Spyro sliding around on his butt. Both of which can be easily fixed by adjusting the frame rate. The rest is just hear-say.

The same happens with the gem thief in the first game, who falls on his ass when the animation breaks (where he either ends up stuck or glide on his back, while you try to chase him down) it may not be the same reason for the "slow" egg thieves, but then again I had to hunt them forever.

For me they are easier than in ps1 version. A LOT.

I'm not sure if they are easier or, this game being many years after I played the PS1 version, I'm just better at the game now so they aren't as challenging anymore.

By that same vein I was nowhere near 100% my first Spyro playthrough years ago. I couldn't do the flight levels to save my life. Now though, I only struggled on one of them and easily got 120% on Spyro and 100% on Ripto's Rage which I'd never even played before.

Look, i don't even have to use my sprint to catch them, so i guess there is some issue.

I found the egg theives in Town Square & Dry Canyon more difficult in Reignited. But the plane thieves in Gnasty's Loot were much easier to catch in Reignited.

Sounds like a glitch, in my copy they're running full pelt and definitely need to charge at them.
