Game will never recognize controller after it gets unplugged
I have accidentally unplugged my Logitech F310 while playing, plugged it right back in and... nothing. Restarted the game, nothing. Restarted the game, steam, unplugged controller and plugged it back in, nothing. Only a PC restart fixes this issue. Is the issue on my end, or does anyone else experience this?

Have you gone into Big Picture Mode and looked at enabling your controller through its settings there? If not you should do so immediately.

Yeah, it detects it fine in the controller settings, and is set as active. Even when I press a button in the main menu in Spyro, the tooltips change to the Xbox ones, so the game kind of recognizes the controller, however the buttons do absolutely nothing unless I restart my PC.

Perhaps it's a driver issue... Try going in device manager and see if it needs an update or maybe grab the specific drivers online. I've not seen a PC gamepad in YEARS since I mostly use XBox controllers.

i had/have 3 of them controllers ya sometimes they glitch a bit, its rare when i have to restart the pc but other times restarting the game was fine some games are worse then others :/ , also dont switch modes (xinput/directinput) mid game .

FYI don't ever Ever buy the wireless F710 it does all kind of bs

Yeah, I wanted to buy an XOne controller at first but it was expensive lol. I've tried the game on my laptop, and strangely enough it works without an issue, even if I unplug it while playing. It's probably an issue with my PC then, maybe a driver or USB port

I'm having the same issue..!! I am playing 7 Days To Die Darkness Falls mod I unplugged my controller to try a different one now the game won't read my old controller I am very upset. Steam reads it, my computer reads it, but my game won't. Even if I restart my PC I get nothing. What the Hell happened I'm so lost right now I need this controller to work. I've tried all the USB's as well the PC reads the controller but the game doesn't Idk I'm very very very upset right now I don't want to use keyboard and mouse my desk sits too high and it hurts my shoulders if I play too long, This sucks...

Same thing though I'm on Linux/Proton so all kinds of black magic sourcery involved... This definitely seems Steam related as the OS and even Steam Controller config still detect it fine. Seems related to game launch handover within Steam.

This just happened to me, I have no idea what happened..but nothing works. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? It's so strange that a single accidental unplugging results in a controller no longer being usable D: Sorry for bumping such an old thread

Wish I could help, I use a xbox for windows 10 official controller. It's like wireless and stuff. Idk if I even have a spare type-c to plug it in to begin with.
