I wanted to retexture spyro myself since I do graphic art, but I don't know how to get into the .pak files, or to an actual texture which I can tweak, can you give me any advice?

Quick BMS with the unreal tournament 4 script? this should let you rip everything from Spyro including sounds, music, textures, animations, map data etc etc.

and I think you need something like pak repacker to pack files into pck files. I've never repacked pck files myself though, so I can't help much there.

I downloaded that but maybe I just don't understand how to use it, I have the .pak file I want to modify of the spyro model but it won't seem to acknowledge it as something it can open. I should find someone who can pack and unpack the files for me, and I just do the texture work. I clearly have no idea what I'm doing with the game files and I don't want to mess up my game.
