A bit "light" on puzzles.

Light Matter is a game that has taken inspiration from Portal in some big ways, and it doesn't hide this. The developers obviously loved Portal and so they throw in homages to it throughout the game.

If you've played Portal, you know somewhat what to expect. You've got room based puzzles to get through with a snarky off screen voice diriding you and calling you names. You also have the uncanny ability to survive a fall from any height.

Unfortunately, Light Matter doesn't reach the heights of Portal. There are two main reasons for this. 1. Many of the puzzles aren't fun to solve. While the puzzles themselves are usually well done in making you think through how to solve them, the actual act of completing them is often boring or tedious.
2. it relies a little too heavily on platforming. Almost every puzzle will require you to solve a very simple platforming segment, and the final level is nothing more than a platforming section.

These two things really keep Light Matter from being a stand out puzzle game. While not stand out, that doesn't mean it's bad. In fact, this game is just about the perfect length, and doesn't overstay it's welcome, or devolve into puzzles that are more mind melting than mind bending. It's enjoyable the whole way through, even if I wish the puzzles were a little more fun to solve.
