I reduced shadows to high and MSAA to 4x and was able to keep 1440p 120fps most of the time. Only some cut-scenes with lots of trees I saw drops.
I finished the demo and enjoyed it a lot. Thanks for the hard work.
Otherwise I'd have to start over with the full game anyways to get that functionality, which is a must.
Still, thanks for quickly fixing the other issues, this game is looking great and I'm quite excited to play it when it launches.
Not even for the final game?
I can't believe that without some official source, wouldn't make any sense whatsoever with the first two games both building up romance arcs and the second offering the import mostly for this reason, plus importing your two Levels and certain items.
Would be a real letdown if that just all were now declared meaningless.
cant wait for full release
Heya Durante, I have one major criticism of the current UI in Ultrawide mode:
The right "bracket" that has your party is way too far to the center of the screen, positively blocking parts of Supermoves, because to the right of it is the "Buff Display" for Brave Orders.
It would be much better if that small window for the Buffs were to the _left_ of the right "bracket" and the latter in turn fully at the right screen edge to maximise unblocked viewing real estate.
Don't know how hard to fix this is, but I sincerely hope it'll still get fixed... 'cause as it stands, the HUD UI during battles really ruins the fun quite a bit on Ultrawide resolutions (or at least at mine, 3440x1440).
Even better still would be an option to just completely disable that right "bracket" altogether, as so far I didn't need anything it displayed at all... the turn order is to the left, that's all the info I really need directly "in-my-face".... party status would be better suited at the bottom, or better yet, only visible when menus are opened mid-battle.
It's hard to justify a ton of hours of work on UW-only cosmetic issues. UW UI work already took up a pretty decent chunk of the total PC port development time and the numbers (in terms of users on Steam) don't really justify it -- the main reason I did it is because I really love it.
So sadly I can't guarantee that it will be fixed before release if any more immediate issues remain, though I'll try my best.
Thanks man, just the fact that you took the time to answer and explain it in detail is very much appreciated!
Wouldn't the option to just toggle off the entire right side of the HUD be easier to implement over restructuring parts of it?
If so, I for one would be happy enough with that option, just as long as such a major view blocker is out of the way.
If said toggle could then even be tied into the menu state during battle, i.e. right side HUD displayed when menu is opened, i.e. in-between turns, but hidden when moves are playing out, that'd be pretty much perfect in my book.
Either way, thanks again for all your hard work; sadly I'm quite literally broke and can only afford the game itself due to funds I got for my birthday (which is happily in March as well), otherwise I'd like to support you that way too – here's hoping you'll get a fair cut of the proceeds at least, you definitely improved the experience a hundredfold! =)
