Hi.. I just downloaded this for my son on the PC ,,, it is all loaded but will not load when i click play .. any ideas

Tried all the usual stuff, no bueno. Edit: Seems it clashes with every and any other controller device. In my case, it was clashing with a Fanatec adapter.

Is there a way to prove I backed the game to the devs for a key? The last email they even sent me was in 2015 regarding Update 0.179
