💰 Possible Loan System Abuse With Factionless Ships

❓ Initial Question

Before testing this myself, I was wondering how the borrowing system behaved with factionless ships.

📜 How Loans Normally Work

• You ask a non-hostile faction for money 💳
  
• They give you a repayment deadline with interest ⏳
  
• If you do not repay, ships eventually come collect the debt 🚀
  
• Refusing to pay can trigger hostile consequences ⚡

The system makes sense overall, although the game could really use:

• A menu showing active loans 📋
  
• Who you owe money to 🏦
  
• Repayment deadlines ⏰

🚨 The Problem

During HYPER JUMP / LONG JUMP events, you can sometimes encounter ships or locations outside normal faction space.

A popup states something similar to:

"This ship does not belong to any faction. Reputation/friendly status has no effect outside this zone."

The ship is clearly marked as having NO FACTION.

However... it is still possible to ask them for a loan. 💰

🧪 My Test

• Made a quick save 💾
  
• Asked the factionless ship for money 💳
  
• They accepted ✅
  
• Received 6000 credits 💰
  
• Left the area 🚀
  
• Waited beyond the repayment deadline ⏳
  
• Traveled through multiple systems 🌌
  
• Performed several LONG JUMPS ⚡
  
• Waited over 50 in-game days 📅

The repayment deadline was only 20 days.

After:

• More than 2 hours at x4 speed ⏩
  
• More than 50 in-game days 📅

...nobody EVER came to collect the debt. 😅

🤔 What Seems To Be Happening

Since the ship has no faction:

• There is no faction able to enforce repayment ⚠️
  
• No debt collectors appear 🚀
  
• No repayment event seems to trigger ❌

So this effectively becomes free money. 💸

🛠️ Possible Solutions

• Factionless ships should not be able to give loans 🚫
  
• OR loans from them should still trigger consequences/repayment mechanics ⚖️

Maybe there is still a hidden mechanic I have not discovered yet, but after extensive testing, this currently looks exploitable.

📝 Short Version

Borrowing money from factionless ships during hyperjump events appears to be free money because nobody can demand repayment back.

Demanding money is extortion and not loan. Different thing.

There is no need to extort or ask for loan or anything, as there are other exploits if you need credits.
(Trade exploit for instance. Which actually allows you to get resources and what not as well. I think it is still available.)
Also the start might be slightly rough but very fast any player can actually make a lot of profit easily. (Hyperlane back and forth)
