Space Haven

Claimed Ship. Unable to properly build upon it.
So i just came across this cool mechanic to claim a half destroyed ship, Thought it'd be very swell to fix her up.
Well this is the mess ive ended up with lol:

Crew wont do anything to the Scaffolding parts, And consider my build demands met..
I wanted to remake that neet looking Divot for the other side, But ended up with this mess...

It seems to be the hull breachers that are causing Build issues.
however even when I repaired all breaches, When i then tried to Remove large parts of the hull the previous breaches returned in the UI(Moving with the Dismantle, I believe this will cause these errors.. i can see no way around it. https://imgur.com/a/XExPN03

I had thought it was the windows(Very well might be since they can t be destroyed (The green spots you see) They have to be dismantled by hand... if that wasnt strange enough, when givin the order to dismantle them the crew shows up, Does nothing than goes back. IM guessing this is because they need to be inside the hull to remove hull windows..(have no air lock). When i try to add a airlock this is what it says: https://imgur.com/a/X56ssfA

Update: So i figured out I had Auto Resource off in the settings which caused that logistics error with the Air lock, However upon reenabling it, My crew still would not build the air lock even after it turned blue and could infact be bult. The crew just arrived at the in space shuttle platform and stood there.

Update 2 [Fix]: It was the windows(which do not respect normal build mode hull removal).
The ship seems to be using the wrong hull windows. What i did to fix the issue was reload a save before i bult walls, used crew to dismantle every window, Sealed up the ship, and Viola, it all seemingly works fine now, But there could be bugs in the future considering this ship had invalid parts on it at some point.

This needs lookin at. Serios bug, Breaking the claiming function for the uniformed. Maybe its just this one ship, But i doubt it.

You'll have to remake the affected areas to fix this. Will take some trial and error until you find out how much hull you got to remove before rebuilding the hull works properly. But it's almost always going to work properly if you remove everything and rebuild it from scratch. Tho that defeats the purpose of claiming the derelict as you're basically making the entire ship.

Its very much a bug that cant be played around, ive tested alot of things. This ship simply wont let me make changes.

Actually it is not necessarily.:( (Hard to tell with screenshots. If you still feel it is a bug send an ingame bug report to the guys)
The thing is that most of the derelicts, claimable ships are full of decorations. Hull windows especially. Those need to be removed first in order to be able to remove the hull.
-> This makes claiming and rebuilding quite troublesome in this you are right.
-> This depend on the size of the ship. Some smaller and more destroyed claimable ships are easier to work with. Larger and more complicated ones can have a lot of hard to notice things you need to first remove in order to be able to fix things.

Decorations, certain small placements like lights, thermal regulators, and so forth can all cause why you cannot remove the hull. Of what i see, you are trying to keep the interior (walls, doors and such) mostly intact. Sadly that is not really a good idea.
Another issue is, and i think you are facing this with the air lock is. That if you repair the ship before placing an airlock you can lock yourself out of being able to make one.
But it was a while ago since i tried to rebuild a ship. If you try to rebuild the ship always go with placing an airlock first.

Yes its far from clean and very unnew player friendly. Im not sure how you ever supposed to know these things without alot of trail an error(Which most people wont do). Especially when in other parts of the game, They function differently. Like in the build mode for your Starting ship hull windows get auto destroyed, And im pretty sure you can still build an airlock from the outside. That's why i say this needs looking at. Game mechanics should be uniform and some what easy to learn.

Most players dont claim ships in a way that you do, because it is not worth it:(
They simply use the claim option to deconstruct the whole ship.
And the game does not really encourage you to rebuild claimable ships.
This is an issue that not many players will face, and they have to figure it out themselves. (Like everything else not covered in the tutorial. Man there was not even a tutorial when i started:P)
My main concern is actually the starting ships in the Small Hope scenario. That basicly almost every ship present is so badly designed function wise that it is ridiculous.:P
(But they are aesthetically pleasing:P)
