Save game lost after crash

as the title says lost all save data so far i can tell after a game freeze that resulted in a BSOD.

anyone else experienced this or know of a way to recover the save files?

Hi!

Very sorry this happened to you. There are no autosaves or anything left in the folder?

Only thing I can think of would be:

Go to your Library and right-click the game.
Select Properties.
Go to the General tab.

Toggle the game's Cloud setting (Off, then back On) to prompt the client to grab the latest saves from the cloud server.

For future proofing:

We have our own built-in cloud save in the game too if you want to backup your saves there. Or another method would be to save on two separate saved games periodically.

I wish I could help more but if the files are completely gone then I can't think of anything else. =(

alas the steam cloud on/off didnt work.

and for the local save. there is:

savegames
_temp
sector330
space
ships
ship22129
Bifrost
cloud
cloudzipfile
Steam_autocloud.vdf


the cloudzipfile give a "unexpected end of archive" error when opening it and the cloud "file" is just a edge shortcut

the steam_autocloud.vdf is 1kb so doubt that contains much.

Hey!

Hmm. Yeah. The saved games are in:
Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceHaven\savegames

And each saved game has its own folder. What you would like to find in there is a file by the name of "game", and then additionally autosaves.

If there is no such then it is gone unfortunately. =(

how a BSOD managed to delete the save files shall remain a mystery.

this just happened to me too!

the game didn't crash but my house experienced a power outage while the game was running.
when i started up the game again, my save and several autosaves were all gone.

seeing as apparently it has happened twice now is there anything we can describe/send to you to get insight into why it happens?

I also had this issue today. I was playing and suddenly had a BSOD.

Turned the game back on and there was no save to load from the session.

Went to look at the saves folder and there was nothing but a cloud archive but extracting it didn't yield anything load able either.
