Reached ship for the beacon, no beacon to be found

Still in the beginning, after I've reached the ship in the asteroid belt, cleared it of crawlers and the bots that were in the cargo freighter AND way into scavenging everything, I noticed that there was no beacon on that ship. The system and ship names were correct.

Could it have been accidentally scavenged or maybe destroyed in a shootout?

Are you sure it is the right ship? It should be named Wicked Bird. And needs to go pick up the beacon with a drafted crew member.

Ah. Thank goodness. I've realized the problem. I am in the "correct" asteroid belt but in the wrong system. My mission not updating when I entered the system should have tipped me off.
