Space Haven

Space Haven

First timer assistance.
I've got about 60 minutes in this save and the attention span of a goldfish. I need to build 2 of the lowest quality hyperjump engines in order to leave the sector. In short, where can I get more Hull Scrap if the only derelict ship in the sector has been completely strip salvaged?

Probably in the next system. If you manage to build atleast one engine you can jump to the next system. Might be some risk involved if that single engine is not enough for the mass of the ship.

You probably expanded your ship to much that you ran out of hullblocks.
You can wait for a trader to hopefully pass by or dismantle your own hull & items that used hull blocks.

You only need one drive & navigation station to leave the sector & find new derelicts, definitely place them early next time.

One drive supports jumping with 900 mass safely, or up to 1800 mass with some minor damage to the drive. (You just repair it when you land.)

Yes I did but the only other option was to glorp all of the objects the game wanted me to build into one or two rooms like a game of tetris, and I wasn't all too keen on that.
Of course it's not your first choice to flop all the stations into one or two rooms. But you will be moving things around as your ship gets bigger most likely anyways. You'll have to weigh your wishes against the resources that you have at that time.

If you're playing on low to medium difficulty you'll get the full resources back anyways when you dismantle objects in your ship. If you're playing on harder difficulty you get only scraps. But you can edit the higher difficulty setup to give you full resources back as well.

Fair do.
Alright, I'll just have to pull some of my old stuff apart then.

Also make sure you built the assembler and have people running it. You should be able to combine some of the derelict hull scraps into hull blocks

Not having unlocked the Assembler at the time was the problem.

Until you get Hyperjump, the blocks you have and their source are entirely limited, and even after disassembling half my hull, I didn't get the scraps with which to make more blocks.

In the end, I just started a new save and glorped everything into one room like Filn said.
I think he meant the Recycler, not the Assembler.
