Space Haven

Is there a way to prioritize certain industries? (water processing issues)
I have a medium sized asteroid base, an isolate industrial area cut off from air via an airlock for not getting fires, and preventing gasses, fine.

I have a water purifier inside the base set to process ice if less than 10 water, its central in the base and right near the areas that need it (kitchen, farms, oxy gens)

its set as the #1 highest logistics priority next to the reactor.

we have 0 water.. 152 ice

theres a container right there for dropping water off, and a container for ice that the logi bots keep topped up.

EVERYONE on high industry jobs walks right past it to go out and do misc industry jobs across the base and ignore the water processor, meanwhile the farms are suffering and I have to keep buying liquid water because no one actually runs the processor, im getting tired of manually assigning someone every time we run out -- am I doing something wrong? it seems the "work if less than X amount" setting is just flat out being ignored.

Hm.
Increase the condition for production to IF. If < 20 water should resolve this issue.
Until it actually starts to function you can manually add the purification job.
select a crew member with industry and then click on the task on the purifier, this should make him do one purification. You have to do this by hand a few times.

Check the priority assignements for your crew. In such cases you need dedicated industry users. Aka their highest priority should be industry. And nothing should be on the same level.
(So single highest priority.)-> this part seems to be the issue, but cannot really tell just by this.
Thats the issue, I have about 3 crew with their highest priority being industry, but they are going to less important industry jobs that are further away...
Is the purifier hooked to a power node ? Proximity to the reactor does not mean it's hooked up. You need at least a small power node that covers the purifier.

He can manually order them to do it, so likely.
The only other thing that can come to mind is that he placed industry buildings too far away. So by the time they would go to do the purifier task, their shift is over or another sudden task gets priority.
It is why it is better to build a dedicated industry sector, instead of a single industry facility with storage.
They work in as to say trio blocks. They perform the same three tasks then usually move to another one. Also if other industry steals your crew, it is better to put them on hold for now, if you are having issues with critical resources.

this is like you already wrote only for the logistic, more important the input logistic, and you sound like your logistic bots doing there job and filling it up with ice.
now the second part is what can be the problem if you made what you wrote here. can we get a picture? i have the hunch you meant it really literal, and noone want to get transformed into a roasted chicken during work (gens are highest class ovens, close followed by ore refinierys) , what means they want to get a space suit first. when no chance for a suit is near they run out of time for the task and start something else.
Age of a job is also a factor, if you have a ton of things queued, you have endless jobs waiting. The water jobs get done, and then they are very new jobs, dropping in priority.

Put it to a higher number or reduce the overall jobs.

Oh yeah environment is also a huge factor. Completely forgot about it.
As Stardustfire mentions if the water purifier is near the generator, the temperature by the water purifier might be too uncomfortable or even risky. And that is why they are not going there.
I believe Nico is correct, the order in which crafting jobs are entered into machines, across all machines, plays a role.

I had tons of scrap piling up, and two recyclers, but I couldn't get any blocks out of them.

I deleted the jobs from the other machines, and reentered them.

Now they're recycling first, because now recyclers are the oldest/first jobs entered.
