Can you do anything with forgotten beast corpses?
Are they butcherable etc?

They used to be, they should still be. They're very heavy, so it may be worth making a butcher nearby

I only tried on a titan, which are the same but above ground.
It worked at very long distance as well. Much further then the 40 or so maximum tiles from the butchershop mentioned in the wiki.
800 meat.. Sadly his horn was dumped because I had "dump other" active in the standing orders.

I think it depends on how badly mangled the body is.

Lots of meat, weavable hair into thread, fancy forgotten beast bones. And my personal favourite, Forgotten Beast Leather. I like to make my archers leather armour, from our defeated enemies. ;) It does depend on the description, (i.e. a hairless FB will not have hair to weave) but you should be able to get most of these and maybe more from butchering.

From what I've seen and what I read on Reddit, forgotten beast corpses need to be hauled to a corpse stockpile before it's available to butcher (and before it rots of course). Not sure why it's that way, but it explains why my butcher does nothing whenever I tried to queue up a butcher task shortly after killing a forgotten beast and later end up with forgotten beast parts seemingly out of nowhere (from auto butcher).

May also want to make sure that stockpile is somewhat close to the butcher. Just saw recently that there is some limit to the distance they will look from the butcher shop for corpses to cut up. Sorry, don't remember what that number was, and don't know if it was an accurate number or just a ballpark figure.

I am not sure if it helps but maybe you can use wheelbarrows to move corpse. Define stockpile over corpse.

That is an awesome idea that never occurred to me before. Thanks.

Nothing needs to be in any stockpile to be used or interacted with.

Because auto-butcher has a very short search range to save fps. If you build a butcher's shop near the corpse, it will be queued automatically.

Yes, you can make stuff from their bodies, but only if they have certain physical features. Like, you can't use their skin if they have none, or cook their meat if they're made of stone, etc.

I was waiting a while for the dwarves to drag the forgotten beast corpse outside into the fort, but nothing happened. So what I ended up doing, was tag the corpse for dumping, then in labor-> standing orders-> refuse and hauling, I put haul refuse from outside on. Then once the corpse got into the garbage dump zone, I replaced the tile it was on with a refuse stockpile, then when I put an order into the bucher workshop to butcher an animal, that corpse was collected and butchered, in my case for meat and scales(hydra).

Most are if they are not mangled badly.

I use a temp garbage dumping zone to force a dwarf to haul it close to a Butchering station then unforbid it. If they won't butcher it then I send it to the atom smasher.

I wish I had known all this earlier, I had a visitor turn into a werebear in the tavern on a full moon, lost 20 dwarves taking it down, didn't know how to get anything from the corpse.
