Mods not Working
So, I have downloaded a few mods, but, they dont seem to be working. They have been downloaded via Workshop and appear in the mods menu in game, but, they arent working and I cannot figure out why. Anyone got any ideas?

Have you activated them? You need to click on the arrows to insert them into the playset. Also, mods require the start of a new world to activate.

Okay, I was being dumb. I thought you just activated them on the main menu, but, kinda counter intuitive that you have to activate them in world gen. Figured it out now. Thanks.

The reason is that they work on a world-to-world basis, so everytime you start a new world you need to activate them again. That allows for different configurations if you want to mess around, but you also need to remember about it...

Let me explain the comment above.
When creating a new world, there is a mods section, the lower right corner, in which you need to activate your mods when generating the world.
Unactivated mods will be on the left, click on the arrow and they will be activated when generated.

Does anyone know if there's a way to enable mods *after* you create a world? I wouldn't mind editing a dll file or something, if I had any idea which one or if it's even possible.

You cant, you have to make a new world.

Oh, you can! I forgot to update here, sorry. I found the answers in the comments on the 'Squad & Burrow Icons' steam page-- the user's name starts with Kiwi, I think. It's a little involved, but it's generally applicable to other mods, too. I've also heard you can just copy the mod folder to the installed_mods folder and that works, too, but I haven't tried that yet.

Sure thing! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2898973979 In case Steam eats the link, it's just the Steam workshop page for the Squad & Burrow Icons mod. User is KiwiWrath, and if you have trouble with it, lemme know!
