How to get rid of garbage ( Turtle Shells, Refuse )

I literally have 200 turtle shells and it hasn't even been a year yet. they fill my stockpiles up and I cant even gift them to the Elves, buggars can't even take my garbage

You can make crafts out of those shells to sell. Even armor, although it is rather bad armor.

Make a Crafts station or two and dedicate a couple Dwarves to them making Shell jewelry and armor work orders.

Place them under a drawbridge, then pull the lever. Dwarven atom smasher.

You can also use the craft bench to craft totems to get rid of skulls. For the rest of the stuff that can't be utilized - varmint remains, mainly - assign those to a stockpile outside(to avoid miasma), and create a 'refuse' zone over the stockpile. I think that accelerates decomposition.

seconding this! making a work order for a bunch of random shell crafts is a convenient way to get rid of excess shells, and gives you some trinkets to trade

For an automated function, if/when you come across lava you can designate a tile of it as a garbage dump. Just make sure the actual lava is a few levels down from that point so you don't get splashback.

Otherwise, as others mentioned, crafting makes them compact and easily stored. I'd keep a few of whatever in case a strange mood needs something.
