Tarn (Toady One) and his brother Zach.
Zach is bipolar and some time ago, he learned he had a cancer.
He had multiple surgeries and had to take a lot of medicine.
(when already paying for some for his bi polarity)
They live in the US so this is freaking expensive...
This is mostly why Dwarf fortress will be on steam, to help him to pay
for everything he need to heal.
They mentioned that Zach was recovering okay on the 12/05/2018 devlog
They explain on patreon here that Zach is okay, but they are worried about their family's medical history and the odds that Tarn might ever have issues: https://www.patreon.com/posts/25343688
here in europe every unemüloyed can afford their medicine and waiting times are 1h max.
i am baffled in what sh*tty state us säcitizens live.
One of the really annoying downsides to private insurance it is that it makes everyone dependent on getting insurance through their employer, hence why Zach's situation apparently worked out but Tarn (Toady) would be screwed if he had the same problem.
You do know it was a republican health care plan Romney care.
Yup, premiums went up and very high deductibles.Only winners were the health insurance companies who got a lot of new customers who had to have healthcare or face a penalty.
Sounds more like what those solely focused on profit, ie private companies would do, but maybe that's just me.
