That’s one of the few issues I have with Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts. It’s rather tied into the overall difficulty of the game, really, as the difficulty curve is more of a spike in some places. The checkpoints are not very well marked (or generous), so when you die and get put back to the start of a section with 15 guards you have to murder again, it’s more than irritating.
Well that's disappointing. Why CI...WHY!?
In general developers are too lazy to do this. They prefer to bloat games with excessive video content. Some release games that should still be in beta. The C&C series which started in Win95 had quick saves.
Especially in this game the checkpoints seem only to be triggered by moving over them in the map, not, for example, after completing an objective (which would make much more sense). I've lost hours because of this stupid crap, because usually, I have to repeat stuff I already did again and again, because the game was saved when entering a certain area (like a roof top) and will only do so again when exiting the area or crossing into another one. This is extremely annoying!
