Shield Durability

Does anyone have any idea on the durability of fire ant shield vs ladybird shield? The wiki is absolutely no help and only lists the block gauge. And for some reason the developers seem to hate the idea of giving us any kind of actual exact numbers on anything in the game.

I would not know since I use the shields for their effects and not their durability. Added to the fact they are not even upgradeable either. I don't think there is a difference between the shield durabilities since nothing differ between them except for effects. Could be all the same.

Showing the exact numbers for everything is a relic from the past, at least for games without a focus on economics, grand strategy or PvP (and some games like Diablo or Disgaea, where it's just used to portrait epicness to some degree). Most people have an intuitive understanding from how long their stuff lasts, once it breaks like a few times. At that point adding exact numbers doesn't have a big enough benefit anymore to justify making the HUD less readable to begin with. (Though the buff description could definitely be better)

As for the durability i've yet not seen any real difference using each of them beyond their effects and the weevil shield's block gauge filling faster. So i would recommend to just go with whatever buff you want to have.

I think I am going to try to use cheat engine to figure it out myself. I imagine unknown initial value, shield takes damage, scan for decrease, repair, scan for increase, repeat till I get exact numbers would work.

So in my initial testing, I got essentially 500 durability for the fire ant shield. each time it was damaged, it would decrease by 1, regardless if it was perfect block or normal block, so the fire ant shield at least seems to be capable of blocking 500 attacks. For some reason however, the ladybird shield is not showing up as float like the fire ant shield is.

Okay, after further testing, I finally got a 500 durability for the ladybird shield as well. So yeah, it seems that both shields last for 500 hits.
