How many hours of content are there at this time?
How many hours of gameplay are there in this game as it is right now? Most reviews show 6 hrs of time played. Is that about right?

The story content itself can be completed in an hour most likely, but there is so much more to do with upgrading tools, armor, base building, exploring, etc.

Same as at release.. about 20-30mins. Can do it in about 4 mins I think.

If you screw around and just build, you can eke out a few. I sure enjoyed making a mansion, and stocking it with stuff. But yeah, lacking in story content, if that's the only reason you're playing the game. Just look at the creative/survival content as being pretty good on its own. Minecraft didn't have a story.

Story itself? About a few minutes if you focus on that, though it'll take you some time because there is so much life already to this EA game and a lot to explore and make and build. I know I got side tracked a LOT when exploring.

Story: 30 min
Exploring, basebuilding: around 20 hours

Normal gameplay (with friends) as long as you want..surviving..but probably max 60-100 hours.

(personal opinion)

You can legit beat the "story" in less than 10 mins, and I am convinced probably even less time than that. Go to mysterious box and press button, chop down grass nearby that is blocking laser, than head back to baseball direction toward the next laser and kill mites eating wire, this will trigger a cut scene that will require you to head towards tree. Assuming you don't get wrecked by spiders go talk to BURGL.

Done with current story content. That is literally all you get. Compelling I know, a bit of a nail biter of a story you'll be wanting to play it over and over. lol Sarcasm of course. I know, I know... eArLy AcCeSs. :p

..oh I guess you could consider "audio tapes" littered about the world part of the story but they're not compelling by any means and not really worth your time to seek them out. Grab if you see them I guess, and if you're desperate for more content collect them all, but they're not really all that hard to find and not crucial in any real practical way.

Most of your time outside of the story content will just be building, exploring, getting new recipes, and killing what few baddies there are in the game. It will quickly turn into a "create your own adventure" thing, and that might be compelling for some but it just isn't for me. Obsidian took this approach with Sea of Thieves and some loved it and I didn't, so considering there isn't much to do outside of what I listed it what time you get out of this will highly depend on you and whether or not you play solo or with friends.

I co op with my wife, and when the game wasn't crashing or bugging out forcing us to restart we enjoyed just exploring. We haven't played in weeks now because we've explored all there is to explore and done everything you can. This last update didn't really spark any real interest in returning. We plan on coming back when the game is complete. Something we personally feel we should have done instead of buying into the Early Access pitch, but I digress.
