That's a tier list by the top top players who play the hardest maps on Chimps, so it's a good indicator for how good something is, at least on higher difficulties. Personally though, I would put Geraldo in the SS tier because he can still carry suboptimal strats by just being busted xd (I use him to beat some of the hardest custom maps, harder than any official map)

This is not at all representative of the entire game. Beating expert maps on chimps is a fraction of the whole game. There are situations and strategies where any hero is the best pick. Are you going to pick Geraldo if your main damage dealer is avatar of wrath? Also this would mean Ben is a terrible hero despite 90% of co op players I match with using him.

Absolutely. Geraldo can sharpening stone buff it (+1 pierce, +1 damage) and camo pot buff it (nice range increase, camo detection and +1 camo damage) and gerry fire buff it (which inherits the buffed stats from 5x poplusts stacks making it quite potent). That's in addition to making the early and mid game saveup for it a breeze in the first place, with turrets, bunny, fire, nails, glue, totems, etc etc etc.

The list is specifically for Chimps mode. I thought that was already established. Plus the popularity of something isn't necessarily an indicator for how good it is. But in this case, yeah, Ben is S tier for non-chimps co-op mode.

If you're not playing Chimps on hard maps, then anything can work and thus non-chimps tier lists are kinda redundant. If someone asks what is the "best" thing, but doesn't specify a gamemode, then I'll always answer that the best is what performs best in the highest levels of play.

On mobile, pretend I'm quoting your last paragraph. Once again, chimps on expert maps is not the entire game. The problem with this is that some towers are better on easier maps, like say tackzone for example. The tierlist puts bottom path village at the bottom despite it being a staple in bosses. A tower having the most strategies doesn't make it the best, just the most versatile. If in any strategy another hero is better, than it's now nuanced.

Btw, I do largely agree with you, I also think Geraldo is the most versatile hero but calling him the best implies (imo) that he is always the hero to pick. I think a tierlist for expert chimps is just mostly unhelpful to the average player.

it depends what you want your hero to do. Sauda makes the early game trivially easy, Ezili carries in alt bloons with the amount of things she can hit, Etienne allows for some towers to shine with the free camo detection he gives.

Geraldo and Corvus are the most versatile and do the most i guess. Corvus is strong but requires so much macro using him in more of a chore tbh
