3 mil pops hurts the fun of new content
I get that 3 mil pops isn't that much but I'm a casual bloons player. I'm not big challenge mode type so it is taking hours to unlock the Mermonkey which makes it feel like homework to do. Locking new content behind a grind/paywall makes coming back to the game less fun and I'll do it less if it keeps stacking up. (trust me, I've played ow2)

I don't get how this makes the new content more rewarding. 3 million pops doesn't help me understand how the mermonkey works, it just makes me waste time unlocking it. NK doesn't think playing to unlock it is important either because they're selling a fastpass for $8

There is an optional $8 purchase for Mermonkey if you're impatient. Most other cash-hungry live service game devs would make the purchase a $10 MANDATORY DLC for unlocking the new tower. So just be grateful the only thing you need to do is play the game to earn the new content.

I'm not exactly throwing a tantrum in my room and tearing all my ninja kiwi posters off the wall cause of the $8, but it shows me that 3 mil pops wall wasn't important. Also, just because other companies are doing worse, doesn't mean ninja kiwi is 100% in the right, they didn't have to make it a grindwall, they could've made the requirement much lower, maybe even a tutorial on how to use the Mermonkey, and then a little challenge or something.

Its such a non-issue that I literally didn't know it existed until you mentioned it.
People that complain about P2W and micro-transactions in bloons literally don't play the game. I just see it as outing themselves whenever they post it.

so let me get this strait, playing the game is fun, but when you need to get a goal it isnt fun? the logic isnt adding up

play the quest if you want to learn about the mermonkey, NK designed those with that intention

or do you think that too is wasting time?

I've realized that the point is to get returning players (like me) to get back into the game which worked so touche to NK,.

Not sure what the threshold of 'grinding' is, I played 'freeplay' a couple of games and it added up pops very fast. 1st day mer's were intro'd - I was done in a couple hours at most.

Honestly its kinda funny looking how this community has no idea how game design works.

Like if i posted this to the communities i frequent you would probably be laughed at

It took me one very casual weekend to unlock merboy and finish the new map. Dunno what you guys are complaining about.
MY COMPLAINT is theres not enough stuff to do. I dont get into the online multiplayer and the SP stuff is too quick.

I agree. Comment wasn't that difficult to unlock, sadly, I don't really like the tower that much. It's ranges quite small.

I agree completely, OP.

I've got 1,000+ hours in this game across steam and mobile and have done nearly everything there is to do in single-player bloons. I very, very rarely play anymore. Just don't have the time or interest that I used to. The one and only reason I opened BTD6 was to play with the new tower because I've been wanting a mermonkey for years. By the time I got 3,000,000 pops, I was already burnt out. Needing to play through like 8 different games to round 100 just to use the new toy that I showed up for? Not fun.

It would be nice if max leveled players had an option to unlock new towers without the grind. But I get it, they want people like me to spend $$$. Feels bad, man.

Also, people saying "just do freeplay"... lol. I got to round 200 in freeplay and was just only a third of the way done. It's not as quick as you're all pretending it is.

>Start medium
>get to round 150
>3.8 million pops on one monkey
>Get less than 400,000 pops / 3,000,000.
Why does 1 pop not equal 1 pop?
