If you want to play a no-brainer game, which is fine, especially for relaxation, Supermonkey's are pretty practical in most maps/modes if you get Double Cash.
The xx4 and xx5 are still pretty bad in even in double cash, but usable, but a lot of the others are actually pretty straight-forward and make for a nice relaxing game on most non-event (non-boss, non-CT, non-race) map modes.
And "in the old days", the game was largely about spamming Supermonkeys to see how high a level you could hit. Sadly, today it's more about Paragons and the late game gets too hard to fast in my opinion. The game is supposed to be fun and I think medium-skilled players ought to be able to hit Round 400 or higher if feel like spending the time. You can do it easily enough in BTD5.
That's why early on I decided I prefer the 204 Heli to the MOAB Mauler or x4x Buckaneer.
i meant the ,< .> and /? buttons to upgrade the tower.
mortar
heli
ice
dartling
spike
village
ace
glue
and probably a few more
edit: and heli, mentioned that was bad.
