I'd like some slight changes to the acceleration of our monster when not going full tilt on the sticks. Other than that I liked it.
Would love to see WASD movement, but "aiming" via mouse and the distance away still affects acceleration. Or even "SPACE" to consume once a victim is captured.
Absolutely beautiful game, but controls need help!
Though, playing just with the mouse feels a little awkward; but I haven't given that a try for long.
Then, open the console (~) and type in:
to bind Z to the cobweb shooting/dashing action (the key/button code is case-sensitive).
Here's an exhaustive list of possible keys and buttons: https://pastebin.com/NEj8W20z
and some input settings used in the demo: https://pastebin.com/dy977vRh
Alternatively, it's possible to change all the settings by editing the following file (if it doesn't exist, then run the game to create it and fill it with defaults):
You can also bind combos, e.g. left control + Z (be careful about spacing):
The full version will, obviously, feature a nice and dandy UI to do the job painlessly, so there aren't any guards yet to prevent you from messing your settings up beyond the point of no return. If that happens, reset the game to its "factory settings" by just deleting the config file and running the game again.
I had no issues at all with the controls. I was fine with mouse and keyboard. It took maybe a minute to adjust to the controls and understand what it was doing. I do not think they need adjusted but perhaps adding more options would be nice.
I also don't think WASD would work very well given the setup but I don't see why someone couldn't attempt to work it that way if they wanted to.
