Selecting Roads, Nodes, Etc.
I finally decided to start fiddling around with this game. My questions are:
  • How do I get roads to auto-snap to other roads? I'm building a highway on-ramp, where the road is at ground level and the end of the ramp is on an elevated highway. Problem is, as I drag the on-ramp up towards the highway, it doesn't snap to the same height. In fact, it doesn't snap at all, even though all the snap settings are on.
  • In CS1, I could select a road without having a tool attached to the cursor. In CS2, there's no way to select a road without selecting a road tool first. IOW, if I hit ESC, there's nothing attached to the cursor, yet I cannot select any road on the map. How do I click on a highway, for instance, and drag one of its nodes around?
I guess I should watch some grade school level YT videos, but they all assume a certain level of intuition that is eluding me.

That was only because you had the move it mod, most likely. Which you don't have in CS2 because paradox is too busy taking month long vacations instead of getting modding and asset creation out like they had promised at/near release

Wait did Paradox take a vacation too?

If two roads are at different levels: Set elevation to the height of 1st road, use snap to connect a new road node to the end of it by clicking JUST ONCE.

Then set the road height to that of 2nd road, [before clicking again] and then connect to it by clicking the end node of 2nd road.

I have found with snapping on that *sometimes* it will recognise heights A&B and will put a road between them. I've not tested it a lot but noticed this will happen occasionally. I assume this is based on how far apart the two nodes are, perhaps?

There is a secret setting in the Input Menu that lets you hold Left mouse button whilst placing a road etc and with that held down, any up/down mouse action will actually affect the height of the next node. It's both useful and irritating in equal measure for me, but maybe it'll help in your case?

No its not. The only Finnish holidays around december/january is Dec 24th-26th and Jan 1st.

Yes they are required to provide their staff with accrued PTO like any other modern country, but it is not Finnish law that they take half of december and half of january off of work after releasing a product into the market.

It depends! They are entitled to 30 days of vacation plus 13 to 15 days of Holidays that are celebrated in Finland. These 30 days vacation can be given at any time of the year. Thus, I believe they took another bad decision by giving them vacation in this crucial moment for them.

Even active duty US military members get 30 days of leave every year.
