The game is more CPU intensive than GPU
I would expect the AMD 3D CPU's to be king in this game. The only reason to consider the intel CPU's is if other types of games besides simulators/RTS/4X you play a lot run better on them.
X3D is better for 4X and TBS too. Dwarf fortress can run insanly faster on X3D if you don't go over cache size with huge maps, then intel takes over. Very interresting thing this X3D is. When you can fit in cache you leave intel behind.
All simulation heavy games are starving for CPU power. And I'm starving for them to use damn multi core properly and not run everything on single thread and sprinkle some 1% load on the reset.
When I saw that CS1 was on Nintendo Switch... Imagine the performance there and how small your city's gotta be...
