So what happened to the promised "free" creator packs?

I remember seeing the trailer for the creator packs (i believe they talked about 8 in total) I thought they would release those for free since the game had such a bad asset diversity from the beginning on. Especially if you consider the whole DLC debacle. But now it looks like they are going to sell those style packs? Really Paradox after all the ♥♥♥♥ you put those trough wo were dumb enough to trust you by preordering CS2 (this includes me). Im beyond disappointed.

They are created by content creators outside the company, and will need the asset editor to be able to bring their work to PDX mods platform. And since the Asset editor is taking more time than predicted, also these packs will be delayed. So when they said "week after launch" they meant "year after launch".

(they didn't say quite that, but...)

And they will be free.

I know what they said but i just happend to visit CS shop side and saw their new upcoming DLC´s those "Creator Packs" considering how they behaved since release im afraid that they are about to turn those "free" assets into paid content.

Yeah as said i know that but its not hard to see them trying to bury the announcement and use the exact same assets for paid packs. Its 8 month and its just assets they dont even made them themselfes so i dont see any reason not to release them asap, would be much needed positive press.

Also remember, they don't have the files. They are created by content creators, members of the community. They have the files.

Glad to hear, i didnt follow the situation that closely hence the post asking for more informed opinions lets see and hope. I saved the Trailer just in case.

Their own forum, for example these latest posts about upcoming patch. Within the comments people have asked about this and they have answered and confirmed that they will be free.

Just stop for a second with your conspiracy theory. What would happen in this fairly volatile situation if they did indeed would make them payable packs? You really think that for peanuts it makes for them they'd be willing to take that backslash?

I still think this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because the vanilla assets weren't created inhouse as well and obviously they are in the game without the need for any Asset editor.
