i like it, i can build roads and buildings and make a city skyline when I zoom in. they did it. they really did it.

and I can't wait to build another skyline in cities skylines 3 and look at it in VR.

It appears to me that most of the whingers on this site are old CS1 users who have forgotten just how long it took CO/PDX to get their act together with that game. Honestly, it took more than half of the life of CS1 to get it into the playing state that it ended up in. Having said that, CO/PDX aren't the most forthcoming of games developers, and certainly don't appear to be amongst the most professional when it comes to customer satisfaction and communication.
Compared to Asobo Studios, they are rank amateurs.

Yeah this can be summarized just with a word....disgrace !

Honestly only way we can call now that they are incompetent. 2 skilled programmers would make this game functionall in a year....but now better pay those money for marketing and paid users at steam forum who say "game is fine" in every other post. I would be ashamed if I would have put in my CV that I have worked on cs2.

A "honest" review of CS1 from someone who never played it (or any other game but some flight simulator, for that matter) and didn't even know it existed before 2023. That sure gives a new meaning to the word "honest".

His CO boss again paid for marketing specialist instead of competent programmer for best tactics how to fix cs2 sales....and they noticed that cs2 have same sale target as flight simulator 2024....so now they are "selling" to us that cs2 is not in so bad state because msfs2024 in thier kindergarten understanding is in worse....and we will be seeing more of those comments from them :)

Yes, CS1 took a long time to get right. I remember using loads of mods. The paid DLC made it better and more fun, but the traffic was always appalling (mods helped). All those trucks heading to coal fire plants. Urghhh. I also agree about the lack of info from the developers for CS2. I'm a real fan of the game but it'd be nice to get more updates. Like a monthly newsletter or something? Is there anything out there like that and I don't know where it is?

I'm never going to pay 50.00 for anything coming out of CO. If everything on CS2 worked like it's suppose to it still wouldn't off anything that I can't get with CS1. They should have called it CSL or CS .5 for Cities Skylines Light and put a 9.95 price tag on it. Even then it would have to go on sale for me to get it.

"What the hell are they working on?" Who knows? Remember all those vid's before the release? Where are the follow ups? All I see are the occasional screenshots and they all look the same. Like those pictures you see of a forest after a wild fire has gone by.

Natural Disasters are part of the base game. Sure, they may not be cataclysmic, but it's disingenuous (and just wrong) to say that it doesn't exist.

I do wish they would expand on the specialized industries more though. The concept is there: place the main building and define the work area, but that's about it.

I never said the dont exist. I said they have failed to expand on them. for instance the tornados look like ♥♥♥♥. tsunamis are impossible to happen even artificially because water physics are just broken. No earthquakes. the only disasters in the game are completely useless and feel like an afterthought

CS1 wasn't a AAA priced release, if people are paying up to £75 then they rightfully expect a working product, that delivers on the promises made at launch. Nearly all of their problems stem from their in house mess of a mod delivery system, which they forced people to use, and it's no nearer to being fixed than it was on delivery.

Games like this live and breath mods, they die, fast, without them. They decided to use a bug ridden mess (that STILL installs to system folders!) to deliver mods, so they could cater to console players, it is highly unlikely this will see the light of day on consoles now.

All it needed was a folder, drop your mods in there, and away you go, leave it to the mod community to get mods working, like almost every other sandbox. Yes, they lose out on monetising some mods, but at least they would have enough sales to make expansions worthwhile, for years to come.

Now they have neither, thanks to their own ineptitude and greed.
