Don't forget, CS2 gave developer diary updates that "cherry picked" scenes and paid or did deals with influencers to promote it, but only to a limit, so they could hide all the cracks and only make them known once it was released. It was the players fault for CS2's marketting team building the hype, but.. they won't get away with it twice.
Yeah.. a cut down version, with "fancy" 3D ready to re-sell all the same DLC and previous features as new DLC , executions anyone!
I had a great time in the first one, even with bugs, but there's no way I would buy anything from pdx
It boils down to investment. Studios can't get the investment they need to build games from the ground up anymore and have been forced to jerryrig spaghetti code from one update to the next. Coupled with publishers unable to be parted with their money the way they use to due to most being public companies.
This withholding of funds also creates issues with being able acquire adequate talent within management to run these projects. A lot of these managers are over their heads when it comes to time dependant projects. While discussing this issue I am told, and this hits home in my field of work too, that senior personal (programmers) are often afforded the ability to be management as well. More often than not, this is not something they are capable with and I wonder if everything I've said so far is pretty much on par with how CO is operating.
Problem is some of the studios got too big for their own good and are now worse off for it.
Delayed to May now
where did you hear that?
im not planning on buying it, im just enjoying the show
Straight from the horses mouth.

I have purchased most of their recent games and regretted it. Enough that I likely won't buy another one. They needed to release this one in the state they did to "make money" but that was a very short-sighted goal of them.
they havent updated on steam yet, im sure those who preorderd will be just giddy
Looks like PDX do indeed learn from their mistakes. Delaying may signify the need for a more polished game (vs the mess of CS2) or at least they are trying to put some time between CS2 and PA2 to make some people forget the mess of Oct2024.
yeah they learned a lot from: Battletech (Abandoned), Pris Arc 1 (buggy still), Lamplighters League, ST Infinite, Victoria 3, Imperator 3. and more.
They have so many games to learn from
I have so much hope because of all the lessons they've learned
Prison Architect 2 absolutely fills me with hope and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens over with that game, it's gonna be *amazing*.
They locked comments for their events saying it is because of toxic people lol. Ie: people are calling them out for the art style, dlc milking, and they left PA1 a mess.
