I was hoping Cities skylines 2 will be more like Simcity 3000,or 4.So sad , so bad its just a city painter with no challenge at all
Vanilla gameplay is not much different - or challenging - than CS. Build service building here, build service building there, done.
At least CS is fully 3D, and I am not talking just about the looks.
That is what a true city builder is suppose to be. Anything else is a hybrid of the genre.
Again you speak of challenging. The main user body that plays cs1/cs2 would get creamed in sc3k and 4. I've seen creators go back and play them and it was a disaster.
Sure once you play any tycoon game and figure it out it's easy. But a gamer who never played original SimCities could not instantly pick up the old games and do a good job.
While anyone can pick up cs1/2 and be good at it and have no issues.
Any tycoon game once you know how it works becomes less challenging. But cs1 was never challenging.
While SimCity had a challenge whether you've mastered it or never played it. It existed when it was released.
You can't look back with modern eyes that could be said for any game.
The fact is if the pure city builder genre 3k and 4 are the top 2 titles ever. With 2k not far behind and cs1/2 not even being on the same page.
Except you need to pay extra for the paint, 1 bottle , black $25
green is $50
And the crazy thing is Sc4 is getting better!!! The DLL mods were a huge a break through and the announcement from the sc4 communities pretty recent that you will need the fully digital pc version going forward because of the new dll mods they are able to do.
I believe the last time I played 3000 or Sc4 was like 3-5 years before Cs1. SC3k was always pretty cool cause you just grab it and go. Sc4 always need NAM and other mods etc. But the Sc4 documentation is darn good. Ive been looking at it recently.
I dont have 1 of the new digital copies of Sc4 so I'm actually planning on getting it soon and
go through all the installers and community mod patches etc.
Ive been playing the hell out of Football Coach: College Dynasty but once I am done with that I think it is time to hop back on the Sc4 train as it has never been better.
ive been reading the sc4 reddit all week lol
