Q2 2025.
The number of subscribers shown for a mod/pack is a bit misleading.
It does not count the number of accounts which download them.
It counts ALL downloads, all versions people download.
Many region packs have been updated since their initial release, so many people downloaded two different versions. So you might need to divide the number of their downloads by 2.
The packs which haven't been updated yet seem to show a more realistic number (like China, Eastern Europe, US SW,..) -> it's still ~200k people.
However, I have no idea how PDX counts interrupted downloads and redownload attempts which happened to a lot of players.
In worst case it even counts broken and repeated downloads, so the realistic number could be even significant lower. But that's something what I really don't know.
Do you really think the number of downloads of a mod file is an indicator of the popularity of a game? Moreso than something like "how many people bothered to review a DLC" or "the literal objective number of active players at any given time"?
As someone else said, those numbers are inflated and count every update and redownload, as well. Plus, popping into the game to view some new assets is not in any way a valuable indicator of interest in a game.
An indicator of interest is, say, a completely dead forum, where almost every post is about bugs or gameplay issues. Or an average player count under half that of the game's previous entry.
They are heavily pumped with cash with thier government subsiding them ^^ without this with fair market rules they would be closed 3 years ago.
I am really wondering on what you based that statement. I think it unlikely that Finnland pays a game developer to stay alive. It is just too small a company.
It is the internet. It brings out the worst in people.
Company of that size will not get any financial support from the Government, especially since they are very profitable.
Easily. It's not such a disaster as some people here keep saying. CO has a very strong financial position, own capital of 13.6 million euros, 2023 made 1.8 million profit after taxes.
They are not going anywhere and they will keep working on this game, regardless of what some people here think or say.
