Private accounts like this screaming about crashes with no logged info are the most common complainers. Why is that?
But in today's world Game Testers are few in comparison to the size of the industries pull, which basically toss them to the side the moment a game is launched anyways and then do as CO and Paradox is doing right now. Release patches and updates with little to no error testing and relying upon the already annoyed playerbase, and in any game majority of that player base is regular people who play a game to relax and not have to "feel worked" after a full day at work that actually pays you.
I get what your issue is, and in some cases I would agree with you. Like the whole difficulty argument in gaming or glitches which are more focused on a game being designed solely for high-end systems. But this is different. this is clear greed from management and also a clear disregard for the playerbase as a whole.
The update has been out for what...a week and a day or so? What major statements have their released? Nothing.
And judging by this discussion board, discords I am in, and even the thinnest of reddit boards in the genre or for this game specifically...this isn't even remotely something they could say isn't a big problem. Add that several major Cities Skylines 2 youtubers and other content creators have commented on it, literally watched a twitch stream of the game where the person believed they fixed the crashes. Game ran for 3 hours and his autosave was hourly...crashed right before the next autosave right to desktop. It isn't on the player base to fix a broken game nor gather information, if they do assist, great! Actually freaking awesome! But if they don't not only do I not blame them I side with them easily, i also paid for this game. I also endured from day one release the issues with this game. I also have played everything they released since CS1 in the genre, supported the game, recommended it to 3 different people post launch THAT i know bought it. 2 of them stopped playing within like 2 months due to all the errors and issues, one of them has a freaking 6k PC!!!! (He always dreamed of something that could run a space mission I guess).
Btw he does Cyber security and also works on indie game development, even he said there were a lot of issues that you only expect from a exploitative trash developer like Activision Blizzard. Is that valid or right? Idk but I do know that this game doesn't function. Each update practically breaks the game, even if you delete everything and do a complete fresh install. One thing is a deathwave, then education issues, then no police, then no crime, then broken economy, then broken road system, then poor simulation scaling. And then this update which essentially makes you poker role the dice on how long you will get to play...its insane.
Sorry for the rant, just I dislike the comments of "provide proof" when clearly the game is broken. I get it, truly do and you are correct, however you can't generalize and say "like all the other comments" style stuff. Cause all the other comments are literally the same and even modders can't figure this thing out. Something is utterly wrong.
1. Install the mod that keeps AutoSave enabled after crashes (it's ludicrous that we have to do this; CO should fix it immediately)
2. Remove Asset Icon Pack mod (Find It will still work, you just won't get fancy icons); also avoid using middle button to rotate, and avoid clicking thinigs in the UI too fast.
3. Install FPS Limiter mod and limit to 15 fps in-game and simulation paused. (If crashes are due to hardware, reducing load sometimes fixes that)
4. Make sure you don't have any savegames with more than one '.' in their filenames, or any weird characters, as they seem to break the zip library the game uses. (CO should definitely fix this immediately)
Some users also report that disabling logging can improve things, but I'm unconvinced.
I'm using old hardware, barely meeting minimum requirements, and game is working fine for me. Even the graphics are looking much better now.
