How I stopped my crashes
This is what I did and so far so good

1. Install Skyve
2. Make a list of all the mods you currently have as a reference
3. Then delete them ALL
4, In Skyve, I cleared my caches etc although I cannot answer for all the consequences when you do that so do with care! The game should boot cleanly as the vanilla game should be ok
5. I then added back in only the mods I REALLY needed at the start e.g. move it, find, anarchy. Note also that for saved games, some of them will need specific mods if you have used bespoke parks etc etc or will appear as just "blocks" until you add the mod back in
6. I now only add a mod one at a time and only then when I do need to use. Then if I have a problem, I know which one it was
7. Also, check Skyve regularly as it gives you warnings re mods in terms of current compatibility, missing dependencies etc. Especially after Paradox issue a patch

Hope helps and worked for me and now I seem back to a stable game that also loads a lot quicker. I had about 80 mods before I did the above and am currently running with about 20

It is so easy to be tempted by all the goodies in the mods area - I had to go back to ground zero as above and I need to discipline myself and add code mods when I really need

It also suggests to me that the vanilla game is ok as this was loading fast and fine when I did this

According to SKYVE Move it is flagged currently as it may cause problems, so if anybody has it installed and having problems with the game you may want to remove it until it comes up clear again on SKYVE

I think it is a nice change in gameplay that missing buildings and so do not just permanently disappear in the city but remain visible as white blocks. So one can have a look what is missing and add it back. Or delete it, if one do not want it anymore, but one has more control over it now than in CS1

Yes agree - I found there were a couple of mods I was lacking that came up as white blocks where I decided to add back in (like Dome parking) but some others where I decided to remove the blocks as not a priority

Seeing lots of threads re crashes - do recommend you take a look at how I sorted mine especially if you are a mod user....

Thought it worked but after an hour again CTD :(

In both my CS2 accounts, (Major Vanilla and Minor Modded), my solution to CTD was quick and easy.

I found simply turning off auto save reduced Crash to Desktop by 100%.

Your mileage may vary.

Or just continue to wait cause this game is absolutely a huge pain to play and not enjoyable at all without certain mods (like move it, find it, traffic, plop the growables, road builder) etc.

Only mods I have running are the regional DLC packs from Paradox at the moment, and even my Predator Helios Neo 16 with a GTX4060 is crashing regularly. No crash report, computer isn't even lagging out, fans not even running. I'm pretty new to gaming mods on PC (always been a console gamer), so would appreciate some dumbed down advice :P

If none of the above works try this file deletion instruction, it might help you sort out the mod Skyve overlooked.....

C:\Users\(Your user name here)\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II

1 - Browse "AppData" folder, it is a hidden folder so you need to unhide it (Google for instructions). Or rather than browsing just use Windows search for "AppData" in the drive. I like to browse so I know EXACTLY where I am
2 - Browse farther to "Cities Skylines II" folder and copy the Save folder to a safe place
3 - Now delete ONLY the entire "Cities Skylines II" folder that is within in that "AppData" folder. Don't ever delete the entire "AppData" folder
4 - Restart your computer
5 - Restart CS2
6 - Replace the "Save folder back in the "Cities Skylines II" folder exactly where you copied it from
7 - Now restart and play the game, it should run just fine now at least until you restore the mod that caused it
8 - If you have a save that still crashes this means it is corrupt and should be deleted, try an earlier one and so on till it works.

I am still running so much better for doing this

Crash is obviously so individual for many players that your suggestion can't help me anyway. No problems with crashing before the last 2 patches. Random crash in pure vanilla with a clean install and save. And yes i have deleted all files. And yes i have verified all files. And yes i have unsuscripted all mods.

I did everything in the book but for me removing the "Grand City Plaza" in all my save games finally stopped the constant CTD's.

This crashing is pretty weird as I stated in other thread, my other 56k citizens city runs perfectly without any issues as does any new city I start but this particular 100k people city just suddenly started crashing constantly to desktop. If my new city also starts crashing as it nears a 100k then I think I might have a culprit, stay tuned.

A small update:
it seems that it's the traffic that crashes the game for me as soon as it gets high enough the game becomes unstable.
