Game Launching on Wrong Monitor
Every once in a while, for seemingly no reason, CS2 will launch on my second monitor only. I was playing the game for the last 3 days just fine, then suddenly today it only wants to be on the second monitor. This is an issue that's happened in the past, so I know it's not a recent update, and the only thing that fixes it is physically unplugging my second monitor, which is incredibly annoying.

I check to make sure the game is set to launch on my primary monitor, and I check other Steam games to make sure they're launching fine on my primary monitor, and everything checks out. It's an issue only with CS2 and I almost can't stand it anymore.

Has anyone else run in to this issue, and/or does anyone know what might be happening?

Yes, same problem. Also the game is stuck in the loading screen.

There is another way when the game change to a different monitor go to the settings and change the display from full screen or whatever you use to windowed screen, drag the game back to your main display then revert display to what you use

Simple fix is right there in the first screen that comes up when loading game. The launcher window has a settings item in the far left side of the window.

Within that setting is the only "sticky" way to fix it.

Most of us just blast patch the launcher as if not important. It is.

my launcher takes up dual screens even when i am in a hotel and only have a 60 inch tv hooked up gave up trying to get it on one screen thought it was my fault for having it run on a headless server

I have it set to my primary monitor and it still opens the game on my secondary monitor.

I understand.

However the launcher should override everything. If not, as you are experiencing then you likely have a mod that kicks in AFTER the launcher that is either bugging it or doing exactly what you or it's default setting programmed.

I'm sure you already checked your GPU software to ensure you have not conflicted the setting there, No?

More likely just a mod bug somwhere. There is only one way to prove it.

Turn them all off then cleanup out the CO directory in AppData, keep in mind AppData is a hidden folder.

Do not forget to move your save directory out of AppData and move it back in same spot after reboot and game restart.

After putting the save file back in the same spot close the game and all should be good when you get to the launcher in the next restart

The AppDatta cleaning will prove it. Good luck!
