CS2: Is it worth it now?
I remembered being absolutely excited when this game was announced a couple of years ago as a I was a big fan of the first one but didn't quite like the style. When it came out it had some bad reviews and I'm just now wondering again whether it's gotten to that stage where it's playable.

Is there still development or has the devs abandoned it? Would also like to know how well optimized it is.

I DO NOT want another KSP2 situation. Thanks a lot.

It is not. Performance is horrible, the game has several bugs and for a lot of people it is outright unplayable. Save your money for a game that actually works.

Yes, it's really fun. You're gonna want to install some mods though. The new regional content packs are great.

if it's worth it for _you_ is hard to answer, but I'm having a lot of fun with it
It is pretty good. Regional packs add lots of diversity to your city. It is good for kind of gameplay "spent a (huge) number of hours to build a city of your dreams and then dozens of hours to watch how it lives its own life: cars are driving (and stand in jams), trains are running, people are walking and so on". Just don't forget to save while building :)

However if you expect economic simulator and full loot and free PvP "challenge" then it is still the wrong game.

If you have no respect for yourself, buy it.

nothing really changed. except for couples of buildings pack made by modders, game still is broken early alpha for which we are paying.

Game simulation that other are claiming is mainly fake, calling it functional is also sign of disrespect for yourself.

This has to be the comment of the day.

This is so true and most important thing for me (simulation). CS1 was a simulation, CS2 is a painter with a fake simulation. It also makes me very angry that we still haven't receive what we (pre) paid for, and as far as I can see, isn't even being considered to be fixed as well as a lack of asset editor. The priority seems to be bringing the game to consoles instead.

Well I DO NOT think that CO is going to abandon this game. Just.. It's kinda of still in a beta stage from what I've experienced. Basically don't buy it unless maybe it's half off and you have the hardware to run it well (see below):

It's still being worked on fairly actively, but considering all of the bugs and crashes I would not buy it for more than 30 dollars max, probably. I pre ordered the deluxe edition and spent 80 bucks already, So I'm enjoying building interchanges and rail lines. There are frustrations with the performance and the crashes. You kind of need like a 4070/7800X3D or better for it to run well. Frustrating for me because of the graphics card prices lately, but that just means I get weird texture issues often. Not the end of the world for a simulation game, but still a bummer.

Unfortunately, it is not ready. It has made some progress. However, the traffic is crazy broken and very few assets. The game just looks plain. I had a bad case of FOMO when CS2 was first announced. It is the very last game I will pre-purchase. I have learned to wait.

Asking here is probably not the best idea, but I recommend. It really depends n you, many people love it some hate it.
Just read the comments, you will understand NOT to invest your money. As was mentioned above, users still have not gotten what they paid for. And the pace of updates is painfully slow and tone deaf to what is needed.

Time for this SCAM of a game to go to the heap.
