Also works with buses.
Bus lanes have never been advertised as bus only lanes either. So no bug there. They work as bus priority, meaning that all other traffic is allowed to use them for turning right for example.
I got 50 lines, 3 depots and everything works fine.
I actually use everything. Subways for "diagonal, and long" travel, Tram for long Straight lines. And bus for short distances. I even use planes for very very long distances on the map between parts of the city and ofcourse regular Trains for fast and long city traveling.
In Eurograd it's like that: buses left right, tram north south, subway diagonally and trains for long, fast journeys at 3 stops

Do you have a screenshot of your bus route?
I remember that there was a bug that was later fixed where regular traffic would use the separated bus/taxi roads. But at least in my present city, most of the traffic in the pink bus lanes are buses, taxis and other service vehicles. At intersections, just like IRL in a number of places, turns are allowed. But I would like to see how your route is laid out!
Secondly, even if the bus network is semi exclusive by assigning it as bus only lanes and connected to the main network, I still find that most of the times other cars except for taxis and service vehicles do not use it.
I'd like to see how the road is laid out as well. Curious to see the issues you're having.
Btw, Der... that's awesome you are using the wider vanilla walking path as an elevated tram station. I use regular roads and never occurred to me to use that instead sometimes.
I didn't even know you could do that! I should try it!
