In the meantime, Hello Games, a team of about 17 (half the work force of Colossal Order) just released another really epic update for No Man's Sky. Must be the second or 3 update they release within the same time frame CO released one update for CS2. And If you want some comparison, well... CS2 latest patch fixes some bugs, supposed to improve performance a lot, but I get the exact same performance level as before. No Man's Sky's latest patch, among others, adds billions of new systems, trillions of new planets, a new category of planet (gas giant), new environments, expanded underwater environment, new biomes, new quests, and way too much stuff to list here.
It's impossible for it to be a good city painter without the ability to have custom assets. So no it's not a good city painter either
In my new city I have been working on, I am about to hit 370k and I am having no slowdowns at all.

Here is a bustling transport hub with huge crowds of people and it is running great. All the CIMs are moving normally, and large crowds crossing the street do not create slowdowns.
Nice to see improvement.
