Unoccupied building problem
Hey guys, I do not normally post my problems but this one has gotten me particularly stuck.
My city is at 7k people and maximum happiness however i have got ZERO demand for anything. I have looked on the demand tab and it has a minus against unoccupied buildings on each zone type. I have done my best to look it up and these are the things i have tried and ultimately failed fix the issue:

Removed all parks in attempt to get rid of homelessness

Downloaded Bye Bye Homeless mod and pressed remove all homeless

Downloaded Building Use mod and deleted all red buildings and removed zoning (did this for 1 and a bit in game months)

Waited a very long time

Developer Mode to remove homeless

However those fixes did not work and i am baffled on what to do next. If you have any solutions that worked for you or think could work please please drop a comment on how to. It would go muchly appreciated!

All the best,

Hello Puggamer1324. In the beginning I set industry taxes at 11%, and charge a little bit for water and electricity. I sometimes reduce taxes on uneducated and poorly educated to entice them to live in my city. Do you have enough employment for cims to want to live there? Farms, industry and commercial? Are there facilities in your city? Medical, police, fire stations? I reduce the budget for those to 50%, and then increase as needed. Then there's schools later on. Not sure if you're playing with unlimited funds, or sticking to a budget. It takes time to build a cash reserve. I would delete the unoccupied residential for now and build slowly as you're in early game. Save up for the geothermal power plant and sell your electricity. Then the cash rolls in.

Hi Puggamer1324, I'm just wondering if you have UK region pack installed and have put the mixed commercial zoning in your city. They're currently working on a fix for this, but when you have that zone something goes a little bit wrong with how the assets are filled and it can tank all of your demand. If you do have UK mixed housing, try replacing it with another zone type.
you shouldn't need to deal with homeless anymore, that's been fixed with updates as far as I know. Homeless will leave over time if you are in the current version. Removing parks will probably reduce residential demand, try taking out loans (if needed) and increasing services and waiting. Delete and rezone anything with the abandoned icon. You can also try fiddling with taxes. Either add more jobs or decrease residential taxes to get people coming in and everything else should follow.
