but ofc i havent got grand illusion like this s a realistic game, contrary its far from it.
I wonder what would happen if you showed the CO crew the pictures of the acres and acres of discarded used windmill blades popping up all around the world. These things NEVER biodegrade, ever. Not for centuries, anyway, and even then not totally, there will be those tough, black strands for more thousands of years.
And the motors! Those things are filled with tons of synthetic lubrication oil, tons of cooling oil, tons of toxic metals and man-made compounds that cause cancer and deformities. And they are being stockpiled in dumps as well, useless, toxic, deadly trash that will remain for centuries to come.
So green!
Have a look! Google windmill graveyard images
Yeah, these things last 20 years at most, and that is ONLY with regular and expensive mantenance. ANd we all know very well just how good power company maintenance is.
Ten years is about average, 15 being a long-lived one if it's not already in a dump.
So, yeah, tens of thousands of these things a year going into dumps to sit there for centuries. And the motors leak, a lot, especially once the rust gets going to work on them after a couple years.
SO GREEN!
It's true. Especially plants used to make batteries and hell the people that mine the crap for the batteries is basically inhumane.
I mean I want "green Energy" but we are just not there yet. I wish Tesla was still alive and his work didnt get stolen and buried.
While apparently wind power is a lot more expensive than coal/gas, this isn't true. As someone studies energy system design, I can clearly tell you wind turbines are mostly made of steel, fiberglass and plastic. While fiberglass is not easily biodegraded, they are not toxic. And if you are talking about motors (or, precisely, generators), most power stations include coal, gas, nuclear, hydroeletric all use them, so it's kind of nonsense. In the sector of electricty, many europeen countries had already achieve some sort of low carbon emission via nuclear and hydro.
